Feasibility investigation of non-equilibrium condensing nitrogen droplets as tracer particles in cryogenic wind tunnels

Application of high-precision non-intrusive flow field measurement techniques in transonic cryogenic wind tunnels (CWT) is confined to the lack suitable tracer particles. The present study explored feasibility utilizing non-equilibrium condensing nitrogen droplets as A numerical model condensation was established. Accordingly, process and analysis tracing were investigated. results reveal that occurrence well droplet concentration mean radius can be regulated nucleation zone growth by varying gas temperature or pressure. Furthermore, employing particles working conditions CWT confirmed through tracking capability, response time, concentration, duration traceability. Formulas correlating used calculate traceability have been proposed. This proved potential application CWT.
